Linux (x86)


NOOBSLAB added XiX Music Player to their PPA.  Everything will install with just 3 commands in Ubuntu 15.04/14.10/14.04/12.04/Linux Mint 17.1/17/13/ and other Ubuntu derivatives:



32bit/64bit GTK2 (Gnome):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/apps

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install xix-media-player 

 

32bit/64bit QT (KDE):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/apps

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install xix-media-player-qt

Manual installation:

Make sure the BASS libraries are installed. You can install these libraries easy by running the 'installbass.sh' script included in the archive. This script will need your administrator password to copy the libraries to '/usr/lib'.

This script only copies the bass libraries to the /usr/lib folder

To see the script you can use 'cat installbass.sh'


 sh ./installbass.sh


To make use of the MP3 or FLAC encoder you need to install LAME and/or FLAC


 

32bit:

Linux (Raspberry Pi, Odroid - ARM)

To make use of the MP3 or FLAC encoder you need to install LAME and/or FLAC. To RIP DVD-Track you will need  to install mplayer.


0.32 and above:  NEW BASS LIBRARIES.  Please run installbass.sh again.  Better Pulseaudio support.

0.37 and above:  BASS_CD LIBRARY added.  Please run installbass.sh again.

Windows (x86)


New Windows build.  Only tested on Windows 10 Tablet.

It is not possible to change the id3 Tags for the song being played.

Windows seems to lock the files.

CD/DVD Ripping not tested.


If you want to rip DVD Tracks to MP3/FLAC you will need to install mplayer for windows.  You will need to use the configuration dialog to set the right path to the mplayer application.

MacOS (x86 - intel)


If you want to rip CD Tracks to MP3/FLAC you will need to install lame and/or flac for MacOS.


lame download - Needed to encode CD Tracks to MP3 files

flac download - Needed to encode CD Tracks to FLAC files


10.9 (Maverick): If you want to rip DVD-Tracks to MP3-files you will need mplayer, but mplayer needs X11 to be installed.

X11 is not installed standard in Mavericks.  You can install X11 using this page: http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/
